Moving In Day

Description

The image that I choose to talk about is a picture of me and my roommate moving into our Freshman year dorm together. It was taken by one of our parents while we were in the middle of setting the room up. 2020 was different for oncoming Freshman because we were in the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The housing department made the students arrive the week before within different time slots to drop off their stuff for the room, also only had an hour to be in the room. They were trying to stop the spread of the disease, so they thought it would be safer to do it this way instead of having everyone move in at the same time. After looking at the picture, you can see that a mask is hanging below my face. We weren't obligated to wear masks inside of our own rooms and outside, so I took advantage of that. Also, we can see from the picture that the room is bigger than normal because it was a triple sized room with only two people living in it. This turned out well because we had to spend a lot of time in the room because of the restrictions. Seeing someone on a different floor was prohibited, we could only see other people who lived on our floor. It definitely made things more complicated. Pretty much all my classes that I signed up for were online. The covid pandemic and being in college was definitely a hard thing to deal with, but I think that it did tell people that we are moving to fast with everything in life.
